HONOR AMONG SOLDIERS
                 By Art Fransen
Inspired by a Joe Galloway story

I read this and I couldn't help but reflect back on my experiences in Viet Nam as well as Firestone. I recognize numerous similarities in these to assignments and in the majority of men who served in the two places.

Special thanks to Preimsberger,Bullis, Edmonds, Mear, Wert and Big B. Reid.

MANY VOLUNTEERED TO SERVE
SOME DID NOT
A FEW WERE "BAD APPLES"
MOST WERE NOT
MANY DIED
MOST DID NOT
MOST MADE LIFE LONE FRIENDSHIPS
SOME COULD NEVER "HANG" AND DID NOT
MOST MADE BETTER MEN BY TESTING THEIR METTLE
A FEW IT DESTROYED
MOST ARE PROUD TO HAVE HAD THE EXPERIENCE & DESERVE THE RESPECT
A SELECT FEW DO NOT.
MANY MEN WERE JEALOUS OF THEIR EXPERIENCES
MOST WERE NOT
TOO MANY OF THEIR SUPERVISORS JUST DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THEIR PLIGHT
BUT THANKFUL ENOUGH DID.
MANY TURNED THEIR BACKS TO THEM
BUT I BELIEVE MOST DID NOT
THE DEAD ARE "TRUE HEROES,
WE LIVING ARE NOT.
